The Sunshine Shop

Early 1900s

October 14, 2019

Built in the early 1900s to serve as a parsonage for the South Otselic United Methodist Church, The Sunshine Shop has been the home to many preachers and their families. But in 2011, new life was breathed into the building with the thought of a thrift shop filling the unoccupied rooms. With new lighting, freshly painted walls, scrubbed floors, a solid cherry counter, and volunteers ready to work, the Sunshine Shop became a reality and opened April 1st, 2011!

The direct result of the determination, dedication and hard work of a few folks who transformed a sturdy but unused church parsonage building, The Sunshine Shop is now a vital part of the South Otselic community.

Staffed entirely by volunteers who sort and display the donations, The Sunshine Shop is open only the 2nd and 4th weekends of each month. Thursdays and Fridays are from 10am to 4pm and Saturday mornings from 9am to noon. If you are in doubt, please call 315-653-7728.

Customers are encouraged to bring their own shopping bags. Watch for special sales occur throughout the year!

In addition to the daily revenue, seasonal sales boost the proceeds and provide the financial stability needed by the Sunshine Shop for mission work, both in the local community and the surrounding areas. Check out the facebook page for more information.
